I spent ten years in a school uniform, so it is only natural that I turn to it for inspiration comes September. And although I am pretty sure my chemistry or history teacher would not let me through the school's front door should I choose this outfit (and, God forbid, wore a touch of make-up!), but frankly I didn't think of little girls in Valentino when styling it... Still, there are some school-related must-haves... A handbag spotting a map, the sweetest iPhone case, a notebook with an attitude printed all over it, the "Harry Potter meets Chloe" sunnies and the most fabulous Westwood booties.
In case you are wondering about the flowers... My grandmother would bring a huge bunch of gladioli on 1 September for me to take to school. The flower stems, almost as tall as I was, felt so magical and their fragrance, mixed with the cool autumn air trembling with excitement of the new and unknown, will always remain one of my most wonderful heartfelt memories.
